Livin’ the Good Life?
January 29, 2010Our friends who recently moved to Arua, Uganda really are (as their blog title states) “livin’ the good life.” They are living in the center of God’s will for them, right where life is truly “good.” But life may not feel so great for them right now as their youngest child is currently inexplicably sick. After being exposed to so many new elements, there could be many reasons for this. Please pray for Caleb!
After a rough week for us here in Texas, it is hard to be reminded that life is “good.” Even after watching all the news coverage of the tragedy in Haiti a few weeks ago, it’s hard to look around and see a lot of good in the world. Romans 8 gives me some much needed comfort, though:
18I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.
26In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. 27And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God’s will.
28And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
Hopefully we’ll all strive to live in the center of God’s will, and to live the “good life.”

Thank you so much for enlisting prayer support for Caleb. We are praising God over his and Karis’ recovery. Kylie is now sick, and has been for four days, but I’m trusting the Lord. He knows what He’s doing. Someone sweet suggested this is our “immune strengthening time.” Maybe if we can get past this, we’ll be stronger and better for it.
